James D. Moore Memorial Foundation for Sepsis Awareness, Prevention and AdvocacyKaren Y. Moore, Founder, Chairman of the Board and President

As a sepsis survivor and widow of a sepsis victim I realize the need and importance of raising awareness about sepsis. There are far too many people dying needlessly each year. I’m now using my voice and influence to make a difference. My husband died May 5, 2009 as a result of Septic Shock. To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of James death it is a great privilege to launch the James D. Moore Memorial Foundation to honor the life, memory and legacy of my husband. As both a survivor and widow it is my goal to raise awareness, advocate and provide support for those affected by sepsis.

Christian is a retired United States Air Force Air Man and the son of James D. Moore. Christian witnessed the loss and devastation that sepsis brings. He has partnered with his mother to honor his father’s legacy by helping to raise awareness and funds to support the medical community in the advancement of early detection, intervention, and research, as well as treatment and care for sepsis patients and their families. Christian is determined to help bring awareness to sepsis, in addition to working along side of his mother to lobby for state mandated sepsis hospital protocols. It is his vision and mission to help prevent other families from experiencing the devastating loss his family experienced.
